I’m a freelance journalist with a fierce passion for diving deep into identity politics, sex-based rights, and sexual politics.
My work spans politics, tech, climate, and gender—always challenging societal norms and confronting inequalities at the intersection of power, gender, and sexuality.
In 2024, I launched Burqah & Bikini, a podcast that’s rewriting the narrative around women’s identities, roles, and desires. It’s a platform for diverse voices, particularly women of color, to share their truths through candid conversations on sexuality, identity, and politics. No more choosing between who you are and who society says you should be. Women can have it all.
I’m no stranger to pushing boundaries. In 2019, I won the Humanitarian Reporting Award from the International Committee of the Red Cross for my coverage of Pakistan’s Bengali and Rohingya refugees. I started my career in Pakistan, covering sensitive topics like sexual violence and human rights abuses in a highly censored environment, including my own story of surviving child sexual abuse.
With experience across four countries and three continents—Pakistan, Denmark, Germany, and the U.S., I’ve contributed to outlets like VICE, Deutsche Welle, and more. I hold an Erasmus Mundus Journalism master’s degree and speak English, Urdu, Hindi, and some German.
Ready to challenge the status quo? Let’s dive in.
